Reading and Research Room
 
Information
The SVM has multiple rooms of exhibits that exemplify its unique collection. The exhibits can only hold part of the collection, however; there is much more in storage that is available for research. The Reading and Research Room is how the public can connect with the larger collection that is not readily available through exhibit.
 
We are so excited for researchers to soon be able to take advantage of this spacious room.  Research will be by appointment only. For more information, contact the Museum Director:

Donating Collections
If you have a collection of historical significance that you would like to donate to the SVM, please contact the Museum Director.  Additionally, please download the forms below to ensure that your collection will fit with the mission statement of the Sacramento Valley Museum (click the underlined titles).
 
The Scope of Collections form describes the collection at the SVM in detail.
 
The Receipt of Potential Gift form gives staff information about your collection.
 
 
Research at the Sacramento Valley Museum
Prior to your first research appointment, please download the forms below (click the underlined titles).  Read them carefully, fill them out, print and sign them.  You can mail them to the SVM or bring them with you to your first appointment.

The Reading Room Conditions of Use explains the rules and regulations all researchers must follow when using the collection. 
 
The Researcher Registration Form takes basic contact information from you and also gives staff an idea of what collections you will need access to.
